Mountain-Pacific's board of directors is responsible for overall policy direction of the organization. The board has the authority to make final determinations on all major policies, review considerations, corrective actions and fiscal matters. The board is responsible for corporate oversight, final adjudications of sanctions and appeals, evaluation of peer review activities and all governance policies. The board is responsible for the hiring and evaluation of the chief executive officer and the corporate medical director.
The board of directors is representative of the geographical areas where Mountain-Pacific conducts review activities. Board members are elected by the membership within each state or are appointed and represent the state’s interests concerning quality of care and utilization of health services.
The board of directors is composed of 20 members. Each member is eligible for two, three-year terms. The board terms are staggered so approximately 33 percent of the seats are open each year. The seats held by physicians are open for nomination and election by the membership of the state the physician represents. Other seats are appointed by the full board of directors as they become open. NOTE: Mountain-Pacific is committed to providing access to its Website for individuals with disabilities. We do this primarily by complying with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requirements. Section 508 requires that individuals with disabilities, including Federal employees, have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to those without disabilities. Mountain-Pacific strives to meet this goal except when comparable access would result in undue burden.
