We protect Medicare patients by reviewing quality complaints and applying what we learn to improve the delivery of health care.
Medicare patients have the right to care that is necessary, reasonable and consistent with professionally accepted standards of quality. If you are a person with Medicare and you are dissatisfied with the quality of the care you received, Mountain-Pacific can help.
We review quality-of-care complaints for seniors regarding their care in hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, emergency rooms, surgery centers or from any other health care provider being reimbursed by Medicare. Common complaints include misdiagnosis, being prescribed the wrong medication, undergoing unnecessary surgery or tests or receiving inadequate care.
Before you take action, we always recommend you first speak directly to your health care provider, a process that often brings about a speedy and satisfying outcome. If that isn't feasible or fails, we encourage you to call the toll-free helpline at 1-800-497-8232; or you can simply send us a letter detailing your concerns or click here to be directed to the CMS Medicare Quality of Care Complaint Form. Just complete, then return it by mail using the contact information provided (e-mail is not a secure method of sending confidential information).
NOTE: Mountain-Pacific is committed to providing access to its Website for individuals with disabilities. We do this primarily by complying with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requirements. Section 508 requires that individuals with disabilities, including Federal employees, have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to those without disabilities. Mountain-Pacific strives to meet this goal except when comparable access would result in undue burden.
If you use assistive technology (such as a Braille reader, screen reader, TTY, etc.) and cannot access information due to the format of the material, please contact Mountain-Pacific by phone at 1-800-497-8232.
